Wasting Away in Margaritaville

The weekend before last Eric and I went to see Jimmy Buffett at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Now going to Jimmy Buffett is not just going to the concert. People tailgate, sometimes for days before the actual event. This is our second year to go and while last year we had a pretty good tail gate, we did it up even better this year. We went with a couple of Eric's coworkers and their significant others and we had some extra tickets so our friends Kate and Pete joined us, as well as our friends Lindsay and Danny who happened to be going already.   We got there at about 9:00 am and got a prime spot in a parking lot just outside of the stadium where the concert would be held.  Eric and I were in charge of the grill and meat and fortunately since I work for a food broker, I scored a bunch of free food for the day. We started off by making breakfast tacos - eggs, sausage, bacon. Gotta fuel our bodies for a loooong day!

Eric looked quite handsome in his festive apron. After breakfast, we had chicken wings, deer sausage, hamburgers, and hot dogs! Lots and lots of food!

fun fishie table cloth and all of our food for the day

The highlight of the day! Renting a port-a-potty! Seriously. The company was driving around just waiting to see if people wanted to rent them. It turned out to be an awesome idea. We formed a port-a-potty "coop" with some of our neighboring tail gaters and for only $95 (what a steal!), we had our very own port-a-potty!

Erica had honestly never used one before. I don't think it is fair that this is her first use of one. It is way to clean! She even asked us if it flushed!

Our neighbor happened to have this lovely toilet paper holder. Classy, isn't it?

Walking around and seeing everyone else who is tail gating is always a good time. These are the Fin Men, a group from Arkansas that come to every concert. They have these cool fin hats and they light up so you can see them at the concert and they move around in cool formations.

Chef Eric and I - doesn't he look good?

It was a long, but fun day of tailgating! 9:00 am until 7:30 when the concert started! The concert was a lot of fun and we were able to get out in time to see the last quarter of the Mavericks game to see them win! We are super excited about the Mavs being in the NBA finals. Game 1 is tonight! Let's go Mavs!
