Raspberry Beer

Friday afternoon, my friend posted a picture of rasberry beer on instragram. I knew immediately I had to find out about this delicious sounding concoction. She commented me back and I was shocked how easy the recipe was! I had a Stella & Dot trunk show at my  house yesterday and made this. It was definitely a hit and and we will be making it all summer long! (More to come about the trunk show later!)

So here is the simple recipe:

3 beers (I used Miller Light. She said she usually uses Tecate Light, but any light beer will do.)
1 can of frozen raspberry lemonade
3/4 cup vodka
rapberries

Mix it all up! Serve in a frosty glass! I promise this is so good! I hope you enjoy :)

Brittany and Dave's Couples Shower

Last Saturday, we attended a couple's shower for one my very best friends, Brittany and her fiance Dave. You might remember her from this post here {The Crazy Trio}, this post here {Mexican Fiesta Engagement Party} or this post here {Visiting BK in KC}. She and Dave are getting married this summer and I am so excited to be a bridesmaid in her wedding! We are all heading to LA at the end of this month for her Bachelorette Party which is going to be awesome!

The Couple's Shower was thrown by Brittany's two aunts and grandmother and it was held at the most gorgeous house of one of her aunt's. The house is in an old, established area of Dallas and was a beautiful one story ranch with the most beautiful yard. It would be my dream home! Anyways, the hostesses did a wonderful job of decorations and food! Everything was perfect. It was so nice to get to know her family members before the big day. I know we are all going to have a blast at the wedding!

Yup, most people don't know what to do with her either. :)

Pretty sisters posing for a pic
Had to throw this one in :)

 They had a mash potato bar with three styles of toppings. Mexican, Traditional, and Greek.
So good!

Kate and Dave's sister Liz - We apologize now Liz for the craziness that will insue on the Bachelorette weekend! We promise to try to be on our best behavior!
With their parents
Brittany and her Dad :) Can't wait to see them walk down the aisle together! I know I will be bawling!
And then this happened... I have a history of taking pictures in bath tubs and how could I pass up this gorgeous one?! I can totally imagine myself with my wine, some magazines, and bubbles every night!
Katie had to get in on the bathtub action too!
Managed a picture with Eric before the end of the night. He really hates photos.

After the shower, we all headed to Stan's Blue Note to continue the celebration with beers and fried pickles. Yum!

 Poor Brit looks tired. Fun day!

 Then I decided to join some gentlemen in a game of pool.

Which lasted about 2 minutes because I really really was bad.

As you can see, we have such a fun night! It was a wonderful party and reason to get together to celebrate this wonderful couple. I love couples showers and things like this before the wedding because it is so nice to get to know the families before the wedding. I know at mine everyone had such a great time because they had gotten to know each other beforehand. I can't wait for all the wedding festivities to come! We have the bachelorette, a bridal shower, and the big day!!

A Baby Shower for Ashley

Two weekends ago I had the honor of hosting a baby shower at my house for my very best friend in the whole world, Ashley, along with 10 other lovely ladies. This is Ashley and Jerad's first child and we could not be more excited for the two of them! Little Miss Katherine Reese will be born in May and we all are anxiously anticipating her arrival. Ashley and Jerad have been busy preparing for their little one and it was so wonderful to get together to celebrate her upcoming arrival!

We decided on a brunch shower with a pink and grey theme based on the invitation. Like I said, there will 11 hostesses. Ashley and Katherine are two VERY loved girls! With that many hostesses, we divided up the duties and everything came together seemlessly!

I made a yarn wreath! Seen all over Pinterest, I decided to attempt this project. A tad time consuming, but easy and well worth the effort! K for Katherine!
Entry way table - invitation, roses and hydrangeas, and Onsie cookie favors

Food table! The decorations for this party came together so well! Everyone had their part and it looked fabulous! Reagan made the super cute elephant, Kristi made the poof poms, Tiffany made the sign, and Jaqueline took care of the pretty flower arrangements. We had so much wonderful food as well!
Donut holes! My favorite!

April Photo Challenge :: My Life

For the first time, I am participating in a photo-a-day challenge. I saw this one titled "My Life" by Paper Coterie. My friend Aubrey posted it. By the way, Aubrey is an amazing photographer in Houston. You should definitely check out her work!  I am working my way through this fun little challenge and posting my photos on instagram (ebase83) and twitter (emilybase). Be sure to follow me there so you can keep up! I am going to do weekly posts recapping the previous weeks photos.
Here are the topics.

 Day One {my home}
We have lived in our house for over two years now. It is a 1950s home and is old, but we love it! We love the charm it has, the beautiful big trees, and our neighborhood.

 Day Two {my handwriting}
This is the beginning of my ever growing, never ending to-do list.

 Day Three {my smile}
I took a picture of a picture of our wedding day. Why not use a picture of my smile when it was the biggest? Great day!

 Day Four {my reflection}
This is my first attempt. I took a picture of me in the mirror that hangs over our fire place.

 Day Four {my reflection}
Then I took Ollie for a walk and as we got home, I realized I had the perfect picture of the two of us in our glass front door.

 Day Five {my favorite shoes}
I picked my running shoes, not because I really think they look great, but because they are my favorite because I like to exercise and be active. Plus I haven't been shopping much lately, so I don't have a new, fave pair of cute ones!

Day Six {my morning}
This is the view from my bed, looking up at the fan.

 Day Seven {my town}
Dallas, Texas
I took this as I was crossing over 635 and the Dallas Tollway. Don't worry, I was at a light!

Day Eight {my Sunday}
Sunday was a rainy day spent at my parents' house celebrating Easter. This is their backyard and pool.

It is fun following along with these challenges and finding neat pictures to take! I have really enjoyed it! Be on the look out on the blog this week for a couple of shower (baby and a couples) recaps and Easter. I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!
